About Us

Located equidistant from the two metropolitan cities of Harare and Bulawayo (225km), the Municipality of Redcliff is strategically positioned for the distribution of goods and services. It’s located in the Midlands Province just outside Kwekwe and about 50km towards Gweru. The geographical area of the Municipality spans about 6400hectares of land of which only about 50% of that land was utilised.
Having attained Municipal Status in 1978, the town continues to grow and as at 2025, it’s population had reached about 45 000 inhabitants.
The Municipality is located along the Great Dyke which is rich in mineral deposits ranging from iron ore, limestone, nickel,chrome and gold among others. These minerals present investment opportunities in the mining and manufacturing sectors with the thrust being the need to process the raw material locally.
The home of iron and steel giant, Ziscosteel Pvt Ltd, the Municipality, remains hopeful that the company will be resuscitated and also that other industrial activities than can be accommodated in Redcliff, can be identified.
